Notes - In 1909 George decided to move to Australia to start a new life, so at the age of 24 he embarked aboard the Ship Narrung at port of London bound for Sydney Australia via the port of Melbourne Australia. He arrived in the port of Sydney on the 11th Oct 1909.
5 years later during World War One at the age of 28 he enlisted in the Australia Imperial Force ( i do have copies of these documents) on the 15 Aug 1915 and severed 4 years as a hospital attendant for the 10th Field Ambulance Division in France & 3rd Auxiliary Hospital located in England. He returned to Australia after the war and was discharged on from the Army on 19 Aug 1919. He was awarded the 1914/15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medal. (Thanks to Craig Swain for these notes)
