- Wedding - The wedding took place on Saturday, at Ash Church, of Miss Joyce Kathleen Ratcliffe, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Ratcliffe, 1 Havelock Place, Ash, to Mr. Frederick Walter Gambrill, only son of Mr. and Mrs. F W. Gambrill, the "Prince of Wales," Woodnesborough. The Rev. C. Magraw officiated. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a white satin dress with coronet of orange blossom and veil, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations The bridesmaids were Miss Phyllis Ratcliffe (bride's sister) and Miss Milly Gambrill (bridegroom's sister who wore blue crepe-de-chine dresses with silver head dresses and shoes. They wore jewelled bracelets (the gifts of the bride-groom) and carried bouquets Of bronze chrysanthemums. The best man was Mr. Charles Hart, A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, and later the bride and bridegroom left for their new home at New St, Ash. [1]
