- MARRIED AT MORISSET - BRIDE IN DEEP CREAM SATIN. A clotted cream satin gown was worn by Miss Kathleen Iris Gambrill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Gambrill, of Morisset at her marriage to Mr. M. Shortus, son of Mrs. O. Shortus of Hurstville. and the late Mr. Shortus at the Presbyterian Church, Morisset. Rev. Robson McVittie celebrated the marriage. Miss D. Gambrill was at the organ and Mr. Bert Mercer sang. The bride's frock was made with a long graceful train, cowl neckline and draped sleeves. The full tulle veil was arranged with a halo of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of cream daffodils and stock. Misses May Shortus and Leila Sutton were the bridesmaids They wore ground-length frocks of blue tree-bark crepe, shirred and made with full skirts, slightly draped corsages and long sleeves. Their bouquets were of carnations and hyacinths The bride was given away by her father. Mr. Ernest Gambrill, twin brother of the bride, was best man and Mr Theodore Gambrill groomsman. The reception was at the Masonic Hall, Morisset. The bride's mother wore a blue floral crepe gown with trimmings of white georgette and a posy of cream primroses and wallflowers. The bridegroom's mother was smart in wine angora and satin trimmings and a posy of snowdrops. For travelling the bride wore a black tailored suit and a small hat with an eye-veil. [2]
